Chalk – the cheap way to dehumidify your closet

If you have problems with humidity in your closet – or indeed dampness that leads to mould developing – why not give this old tip a go? Place a bundle of chalk in your closet (keeping it away from your clothes!), it will act as a sort of dehumidifier and is a lot cheaper than an electric dehumidifier.

There are lots of tips on the internet about home-made humidifiers and I like the ideas presented here. Please note: I have not tried any of these methods, so don’t know if they really work. However, I would probably give at least one of them a try before buying an electric one. It’s up to you.

Let me know how you get on.
